Terms of service

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Fisshat LLC, a Limited Liability Company registered in California, United States ("Fisshat", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using our website or products, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the products.

2. Who may use the products

You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at info@fisshat.com if you believe someone else has access to it.

3. Your account and your data

You keep ownership of everything you put into the products. You grant us only the permission needed to store it, process it, and show it back to you — that is, to run the service for you. We do not claim rights over your content beyond that, and we handle it as described in the privacy policy.

You may delete your account at any time. See the support page for how.

4. This is not financial advice

Squirrel is a self-tracking tool. Nothing in it is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for professional guidance. Prompts, appeals, and calculations are generated from figures you enter yourself and are intended to support your own decisions, not to make them for you. Every financial decision you take remains yours, and Fisshat is not responsible for its outcome.

The products are also not a treatment for compulsive spending or any other condition. If spending is causing you serious harm, please speak to a qualified professional.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the products unlawfully, or to break someone else's rights.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours.
• Probe, scan, or disrupt the service, or work around its security or rate limits.
• Reverse engineer or copy the products except where the law expressly permits it.
• Resell or redistribute the products without our written agreement.
• Submit malicious code or use the service to distribute it.

Good-faith security research is welcome under the disclosure terms on the support page and is not a breach of this section.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Some features may require a paid subscription. Where you buy through an app store, that store takes the payment, and its billing rules, renewal terms, and refund policy govern the transaction — including cancellation, which is done in your app store account rather than by us.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices may change, and we will give reasonable notice before a change affects you. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not refund the period already paid for, except where the law or the app store's policy says otherwise.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the products running and to give notice of planned maintenance, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may be added, changed, or withdrawn as the products develop. Where a change removes something significant, we will give reasonable notice.

8. Intellectual property

The products, this website, and the Fisshat and Squirrel names, logos, and designs belong to Fisshat LLC and are protected by intellectual property law. Using the products gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use them as intended, and nothing more.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the products and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if it is necessary to protect the service or other users, or if we are legally required to. Except where a serious breach or a legal requirement makes it impossible, we will tell you why and give you a chance to retrieve your data.

10. Disclaimers

The products are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the products will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that they will produce any particular financial result.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Fisshat is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or savings, arising from your use of the products. Our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Fisshat against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the products or your breach of these terms or of applicable law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the products or the law change. The date at the top records the last revision. Material changes will be notified in the product or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the products after that means you accept the revised terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The courts of California have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers keep any right they have to bring proceedings in their own country of residence.

15. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or restructuring of the business. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us about the products.
